WORKS UNDERWAY AT THE HUB

Following the announcement of the exciting plans to upgrade The Hub - the city’s premier dining and leisure quarter - works are underway on the external seating areas of Turtle Bay and Blossom Room and will continue in an anti-clockwise direction around the piazza. Once complete, the portes cocheres will provide each restaurant with all year round seating space extending their covers significantly
Local construction company RSR Ltd, based in Linford Wood, has been appointed to carry out and project manage the installation of the portes cocheres to the external seating areas of the restaurants and bars located in The Hub’s central piazza area. This phase of works is expected to be completed in October.
Leigh Strathearn, part-owner of Blossom Room and Maaya Indian Kitchen & Bar commented: “ I and my colleagues are hugely excited and encouraged that this much-needed development is now underway. It is important that The Hub evolves and implements changes to keep the area attractive to visitors and residents. The proposed plans presented by DLA Architects, are fresh and contemporary while remaining consistent with Milton Keynes’s architectural features.”
Subject to planning permission being granted by MKC, further works will be carried out to the outdoor seating areas to some units off the piazza and to the central piazza itself which will include new landscaping, slabs and a focal water feature.
Once complete, The Hub will provide a new and exciting destination for the City of Milton Keynes to be enjoyed by residents and visitors alike.
