The Hub in Milton Keynes has strengthened its long partnership with the MK Food Bank by donating £1,000 to the charity.
As part of #LoveMK day celebrations The Hub encouraged the people of Milton Keynes to like, comment and share messages stating why they love Milton Keynes on The Hub’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages in a bid to raise the money. For each like, comment and share £1 was donated to the Food Bank pot. The people of Milton Keynes came out in force, leaving messages of love and support for the city and the target of £1,000 was hit within a matter of hours. The Food Bank is run by a small team of staff and has 70-80 volunteers who give up their time to help in the warehouse and at serving stations. Donations can make a huge difference. Caitlin Hands (pictured) MK Food Bank’s Partnerships Manager met with Simon Spavins (also pictured) Managing Director of Broadoak, The Hub’s management company last week to discuss the relationship between the charity and The Hub.
She said, “I would like to thank The Hub for hosting this event and for contributing to our cause. It is always inspiring to see so many people of Milton Keynes showing support for the Food Bank and, on behalf of the MK Food Bank, I would like to thank everyone who was involved. We will continue to support those in need in Milton Keynes and your valuable donation will help us to ensure that we are able to continue with our current projects helping the community” The Hub spokesperson said, “Each year we try to think of new ways to raise money The Food Bank. This year it was great to read all of the comments and see so many people get actively involved. Thank you to all who joined The Hub’s campaign and shared their thoughts on why they love MK. We are proud to support the Food Bank and all of the volunteers who help people in need, right here in the city.”
