In support of #LoveMK Day The Hub teamed up with The Food Bank charity to help raise money to support their amazing work.
The Food Bank is a charity that supports people within Milton Keynes who are in need, by providing food parcels to those experiencing poverty within the MK community. The 70-80 volunteers dedicate their time to help in the warehouse and serving stations and in turn have issued an incredible 11037 parcels between 1st June 2018 and 31st May 2019.
It can be very hard hitting to hear the staggering number of people living on the edge of poverty in the city, but the team at The Food Bank are working tirelessly to make a huge difference to improve the lives of our community.
The Hub were very proud to support the amazing work of The Food Bank during the #LoveMK Day campaign in which the people of MK came together to express their love for this vibrant city. By teaming up with the fantastic charity, The Hub proudly raised a £1,000 contribution to support them in providing this much needed help.
People actively got involved on social media to help raise the contribution by liking and commenting on The Hub’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram posts to donate, each interaction on social media = £1.
Caitlin Hands, Partnership Manager at the Food Bank, said “I would like to thank everyone who helped raise £1,000 for The Milton Keynes Food Bank and especially The Hub MK for organising such a successful campaign. It is always inspiring to see how the people of Milton Keynes care for their community and the work of the Food Bank. This generous donation gives us a much needed boost to our capacity to support families and individuals in urgent need of basic food supplies locally.”
